The state of Arizona requires only one legal ground to dissolve a marriage, that the marriage is “Irretrievably Broken.” Arizona Courts will not consider the fault of a party with relation to dissolving a marriage. Arizona is a community property state which in essence results in an approximately equal division of all property obtained and debt incurred during a parties marriage. Arizona permits parties to complete the Dissolution of Marriage process through a Consent Decree or written agreement in which no trial or appearance before a judge will be necessary.
